Is an internet connection required to use a Clover device?
You can only process card transactions offline for seven consecutive days. After seven consecutive days offline, your Clover device will disallow card transactions. You will need to be connected to the internet in order to activate your Clover device. After activation, your Clover device will be able to function and take transactions.
What kind of transactions can I manage from Merchant Keypad?
You have the option to manage transactions from Sale app and Refund app, if you use Merchant Keypad as a merchant-facing device and Clover Mini as a customer-facing device for an improved customer experience. Note At anytime, you are still free to use Clover Mini as a merchant-facing device to take other types of transactions.
How can I be sure that customers can not access other apps on Clover Mini when it’s used as a customer-facing device?
When customers are using the Clover Mini as customer-facing device, the Clover Mini is placed into customer mode. Ensure that a PIN is required when leaving customer mode by verifying that "REQUIRE PIN ON EXIT" is turned ON in the bottom bar for added security.
How many Clover Mobile devices can be paired with Clover Mobile Printers?
A Clover Mobile device can be paired with up to one Clover Mobile Printer at a time. A Clover Mobile Printer can be paired with up to 6 Clover Mobile devices at a time.
Does the Clover Mobile and Clover Mini connect to a kitchen printer?
Yes. Just like Clover Station, a Clover Mobile and Clover Mini can connect to a Kitchen Printer as long as the devices are all on the same LAN (local area network).
What is the difference between logging in when tapping “UNLOCK” vs. entering my PIN?
If you are logging into your Clover Mobile or Clover Mini by tapping “UNLOCK” instead entering your employee PIN on the lock screen, you will be logging in as a “Default Employee” who has limited permissions. If you would like access more robust features such as reporting, refunding, closing out, etc, please log in with an admin or owner’s PIN.
Why can’t I connect my Clover Mobile or Clover Mini to my WiFi network?
Due to extra security around Clover Mobile and Clover Mini devices, Clover Mobile and Clover Mini will be compatible with WPA2 networks. They will not be compatible with WEP networks.
Does Clover support EBT?
Yes. Currently, we support EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) cards with magnetic stripes and manual card entry requirements. In the future, we will also support EBT EMV (chip cards).
Does Clover support layaway?
Clover does not currently support layaway directly on Register app.
